How do you play Jangle Pops?
You stick them on and play as normal, and the Jangle Pops play along with you! They aren't meant to be struck directly, rather pop, jingle and vibrate with the drum as you play it.
What’s the best place for Jangle Pops?
That's up to you! They were originally designed for the top (batter side) snare drum head. So that's one favorite place of the Jangle Pops team. They also sound great on tom toms or other drums or pieces that are struck. We've tried them successfully on the top hi-hat cymbal, and a counterintuitive but cool spot is on top (not the head) of the kick drum for a nice bright accompaniment ching to every kick drum stroke. The key is experimenting with your setup and playing to dial in the sweet spots for your sound.
How do I install Jangle Pops?
For best results, use alcohol to clean the area on your drum where the Jangle Pop will go. Let the area dry. Remove the backing from the Jangle Pop's adhesive pad. Place the sticky side down flat and press gently to secure the Jangle Pop in place. Once it's firmly in place you can play right away!
Can I reposition Jangle Pops?
Jangle Pops can be repositioned to some extent. Various factors affect the bond and these include the texture and cleanliness of the surface, the length of time in place before repositioning, temperature and humidity (that typically affect adhesives), placement, head tension and playing style. A worn out adhesive pad can be replaced (see below).
Where should I put Jangle Pops on a drum head?
We find that nearer the outside of the head - closer to the rim - works best but many factors are in play and any spot is fair game.
Where else should I put Jangle Pops?
We love them on top of the kick drum and on the top hi-hat cymbal. One player put them on a DIY drumhead-deadening ring (like a Zero Ring). Try Jangle Pops on woodblocks, cowbells...other tambourines?
My Jangle Pop came apart - what do I do?
You can easily repair Jangle Pops. Slide the brad through the two jingles and fold the brad "legs" down to hold the jingles together. Leave a little space for them to rattle together. Apply the double-sided adhesive circle over the brad legs and reinstall. If the adhesive is no longer sticky, replace it with double sided foam tape or get in touch with customer service for a factory double sided adhesive foam pad. support@janglepops.com
What do I do if I need new Jangle Pops adhesive pad?
You can use similar double sided foam tape or get in touch with customer service for a factory double sided adhesive foam pad. support@janglepops.com
